A Message from the Director
Parents and students,
The end of the first nine weeks is Friday, October 19. Please encourage your students to finish up strong! This is the time of year where students feel overwhelmed and frustrated. Remind them to make a plan and take one bite of the elephant at a time! This week is busy with NHS induction, ApplyPhoenix Night for Seniors and their parents and a school field trip to AT&T Stadium on Friday. Don't forget to turn in your permission slip with your $15.
GMS parents, please wait for your students in the parking lot by the tennis courts to make room for the bus to drop off students safely! Remember student safety is our number one responsibility. Thank you for your support!

Spring Registration
Reminder, TCC Registration for Spring 2019 takes place TOMORROW MORNING at 5:00 AM. EVERY sophomore, junior and senior MUST register for their college classes tomorrow morning – Monday, October 15. Please be sure that your WebAdvisor “Preferred List of Sections” is accurate and waiting to be uploaded TODAY so that you can hit “submit” and get registered for the classes that you need.
Please remember that you need to double-check your Skyward Schedule to ensure that you are not double-booking your schedule. Any college course that conflicts with a high school class will need to be dropped, so it is very important that you pay close attention to the start and end times for your high school and college classes. If you have a major problem with scheduling your TCC classes around your high school classes, please come to my office on Monday.
Once you have registered for your college classes, please be sure to print your schedule and turn it into your Pathways Teacher. It is important that you neatly write/print your name (first and last) at the top of your print-out as I will be using that to add your classes to your Skyward schedule. NOTE: ALL freshmen will be registered for their TCC Classes through the counseling department and do not need to worry about registering for their college classes.
Required Sexual Harassment Training for ALL Students
Reminder, you MUST complete the #NotAnymore Sexual Harassment training before you can register for Spring Classes at TCC. You may access this training through your BlackBoard/WebAdvisor account.
Dropping Classes
Students, it is important that you do NOT drop any TCC courses without talking with me first! If you drop a class counting as dual credit for your high school required courses, dropping your class could keep you from being on track for graduation.

FAFSA & Final Aid Information:
Students, BEFORE you can apply for Federal Student Aid, the student AND the parent MUST have a FSA ID. Please request that now as it can take a few weeks to get your FSA ID. From the FAFSA Website (https://fafsa.ed.gov): It is very important that you and your parent create and use your own FSA IDs. The FSA ID acts as a legal signature and should not be shared. Letting someone else create your FSA ID is not allowed and can create problems and delays with your financial aid. For more information or to create your own FSA ID, go to StudentAid.gov/fsaid. If your parent does not have a Social Security Number, he or she will not be able to get an FSA ID through the online process. In that case your parent will print, sign, and mail in a paper signature page.

Theatre Club Student-Led Project Campaign
Dear Collegiate Academy Family,
We need your help to get our classroom project funded through SONIC’s Limeades for Learning® Fall Voting Campaign!
From October 1 to October 28, you can make a difference in your child’s classroom by voting online for my classroom project at http://limead.es/3681148 each day over the four-week voting period. At the end of every week during the campaign, SONIC will fund the projects receiving the most votes. Unfunded projects carry votes over to the next week.
Limeades for Learning is a national philanthropic initiative of SONIC®, America's Drive-In® to support U.S. public school teachers and their students. In partnership with DonorsChoose.org, this campaign provides essential tools including books, art supplies, technology, and instruments for teachers to inspire creativity and learning in their classrooms.
My project is called “Shining a Light on Student-Led Theatre.” With this project, I’ll be able to give my students the lighting equipment they chose for our production of Into the Woods Jr. They also will be able to further develop their knowledge of stagecraft. We have a talented group of students who collaborate each day to lead our theatre company. They are involved In all aspects of our program including directing, acting, producing, budgeting, fundraising, costuming and designing our sets. They must use their problem-solving skills and collaborate to achieve their goals. I am so proud of them, and I hope you can support us with your votes.
Here’s how you can help:
· Vote for my project each day for free at LimeadesforLearning.com (You’ll need to create an account with a valid email address first).
· Make a purchase at your local SONIC and use the code on the bag sticker for two votes.
· Vote 10 separate times to earn a digital code worth extra votes.
· Spread the word about the program to teachers and friends by sharing the news that you voted on your social pages or through email and you will receive additional opportunities to vote.
With the help of the Collegiate Academy community, we can help make our school a better place to learn. Vote often!
Thanks for your support,
Kristinia Haney and the Collegiate Academy Theatre Club
