Nurse Notes ~ Ms. Finegan

COVID-19 and Flu cases will continue to be prevalent this month! Be vigilant about your family's health! Here are some things you can do:

1. Call your doctor or get tested for COVID-19 with any illness symptoms!

2. Get plenty of sleep! Children should get 9-12 hours each night

3. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables

4. Bundle up and go outside on walks or runs! Children need 60 minutes of exercise EACH day.

5. WASH your hands, WEAR your mask, and WATCH your distance!

IMPORTANT: Please do not send your child to school with any illness symptoms (including a runny nose or congestion). Call the nurse, Ms. Finegan at 847-844-4224, and she will work with you to determine when it is safe for your child to return in person!

If a parent/guardian has questions at any time, or if someone in your household tests positive, please contact the Nurse, Ms. Finegan, at 847-844-4224 or tfinegan@barrington220.org.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) ~ Mr. De La Mora, Assistant Principal

Welcome back from winter break. We surely missed our Tigers and are ready to continue working together with you for the benefit of our students. During the month of January, we have planned activities that directly relate to the socio-emotional well being and development of our Sunny Hill Tigers. The first comes from the District’s Director of Equity, Race, and Cultural Diversity Initiatives: “No Name-Calling Week.” During our daily announcements the week of January 19th, we will be adding messages about the power of words and how they can have an impact on us. The second activity will be a series of presentations about Erin’s Law, led by our school social workers and psychologist. During these presentations, students will learn about age-appropriate techniques to recognize personal body safety, how to speak up, and how to tell a trusted adult of any concerns. Thank you for all of your help. I am here to help you, and to give our students the opportunities to be the best version of themselves that they can be. Please do not hesitate to contact me at (847) 426-4232 or via email at edelamora@barrington220.org.
