Cross Country State Qualifiers!
The Florence girls' team qualified for state! Junior Mary Claire Ridgeway won the Class 7A Section 4 race with a 5K time of 19 minutes, 41.95 seconds, more than 26 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Isabella Rhodes was Florence’s second-fastest runner, helping the Falcons take third as a group.
Boys:
Florence sophomore Trey Hurt, sophomore Reed Trapp, junior Kalen Robinson, and junior David Rubolin qualified as individuals.
The state meet will be November 9 at Oakville Indian Mounds Park in Moulton.

Health Science Guest Speaker
Health Science classes enjoyed guest speaker is Lamont Dupree, the program coordinator for the North Alabama Area Health Education Center. Their goal is to provide services and activities that support health careers promotion, student and resident experiential education, community health awareness and professional continuing education. Mr. Dupree spoke to the students about different types of careers that are available in health and the importance of choosing a career they are passionate about.
Congratulations to Florence Falcon Theater Students!
Florence Falcon Theater received numerous awards at The Walter Trumbauer District Theater Festival. The students earned 38 superior ratings and numerous excellent ratings in individual events and will move on to compete in the state competition at Troy University next month. The one-act play, The Yellow Boat, won several awards including Best in Show and Best Technical Production and will also advance to compete at the state level.
