Glenholme School Newsletter

Term 4 - Week 6, 24th November 2022

Kia ora e te whānau

We wish our Kapa Haka roopu well for their performance tonight in the Rotorua Central Schools Hui Ahurei. Glenholme School will perform in the first half which starts at 5.00pm. Our tamariki have spent many of their lunchtimes preparing for the Ahurei. We know that our tamariki will look fantastic and give it their all during their performance. Thank you to all of our whānau who will be attending tonight to support their tamariki. Our thanks to Whaea Tania and Whaea Jessie who are the tutors for our Kapa Haka roopu. Next Friday at our final normal assembly our Kapa Haka roopu will perform for the school.

We will be having a ‘Own Clothes Day’ next Friday as well. So, Friday 2nd December is going to be an exciting day all around. Your child can wear their own clothes to school for the day in exchange for a can of food. We are supporting The Hits 97.5 ‘Fill the Bus’ promotion. We will be collecting as many cans of food as possible to donate to the Salvation Army. Our Young Leaders are organising this event and your support will be very much appreciated.

On Monday morning we managed to get through the morning with our Tihiōtonga team and Whakapoungakau team athletics sports. It was a wonderful morning with every student competing and giving it their best. The odd spot of rain did not dampen anyones enthusiasm. We are planning to finish off the athletics sports with the events which we did not get to tomorrow morning. I have just checked and the weather is looking good for Friday morning so hopefully we will be able to go ahead and finish this event. Please come along and support your child.

Five Year Old New Entrant Pre–Enrolments

Glenholme School welcomes new arrivals to the school. Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the year should notify the school to assist the school to plan appropriately for the next terms. We would like to encourage parents to contact Mrs Molly Norton (Deputy Principal) to confirm future student enrolments. To help determine future classroom placements, it is vital that the school has as much information as possible about future students. Enrolment forms are available at the school office or you can contact Mrs Norton Deputy Principal 348-1489 ext 203 or email Glenholme School.
