Message from the Principal

Good afternoon Mighty WBS Dolphins,

I hope you are well, rested, and ready for another adventurous week down in Dolphin Country. We are running downhill toward the finish line, and like all good racers, we know the importance of finishing strong. On that note, It was so happy and hopeful to have our parent car door openers back last week, all way too long, so a huge shout out to all of them, and especially our fearless coordinator, Dustin Gross. Great Job!

Did you know that reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are? Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:

  • Set the example. Let children see you read.
  • Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep up with changing tastes and reading skills.
  • Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books to read.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that normally brings the books kids want to read right into our school. This year will be a little different though. Due to social distancing, it will be a Virtual Bookfair.

There's still a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our ONLINE Book Fair from April 19th - May 2nd and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits. Remember that WBS receives 25% of the profit which allows us to add to our library collection.

This year will be what we make it…let’s make it amazing! Welcome my friends, to Week 33!

Principal Jackson Norvell
