~~~ RECIPES & TIPS ~~~
Decorative Apple Gourds
How to Dry Apple Gourds
Beautiful to display during all seasons, especially fall. They can be painted, dyed, cut in half and cleaned to be made into a bowl, birdhouse etc...
1) Choose a healthy apple gourd in the fall.
2) Place it in a paper bag or cardboard box, out of sight for six months, in a dry area.
3) Leave it alone. It will mold and it will look disgusting. It's natural.
4) In six months, remove from bag/box and scrape dried mold off with a knife.
With a fresh picked green gourd, you can dry it on your own and later harvest the seeds for planting. They also make beautiful temporary fall decorations, if you aren't ready to dive into the fun of drying and preparing a longer lasting gourd project.
Jalapenos
Eggplant
I truly agree with this. There is just something about perfectly cooked eggplant, especially if it is sliced thin, breaded, and cooked crispy. Haven't used the spaghetti sauce yet? THAT would go perfectly in a crispy eggplant parmesan!
