From the desk of Mrs. Jones & Mrs. Kalfazade

Welcome to 2023! We hope that you enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating winter break and thoroughly embraced time with your loved ones. As we move into the new year and take time to reflect on the holidays, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our teachers, staff, students and our families for your dedication to helping make New Albany/Memorial Annex an amazing place to learn!

In 2022, we appreciated the support you provided our students and staff. Educating children is a "all hands on deck" process. We truly appreciate the sincere partnership with our families, which in turn helps our students to be successful. In addition, we are extremely proud of the hard work and accomplishments of our students, who work hard to achieve success each day.

January brings a fresh start for each of us and is a time to set goals and prioritize for the year. We are no different at school. We are now into the long stretch and it is during this time we see the most growth from students. Ask any Kindergarten teacher in March and they can tell you how exciting it is to see their students blossoming into readers, writers, and mathematicians.

We wish our families and community members a Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing students on January 3, 2023!

January is School Board Appreciation Month

In January we honor the community volunteers who serve on our local school board. We express sincere gratitude for the support they provide for our students and schools. Their service, commitment, and dedication to the Cinnaminson Township students, staff, schools, and community has been unyielding, and they have done a fine job rising above challenges and meeting the needs of all. Thank you for your extraordinary service in helping Cinnaminson students thrive!

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

January 9th marks the day we express our gratitude for law enforcement officers and all they do to keep our community safe. Around the world, police officers and rangers watch over and protect their communities. Whether you wear blue clothing in solidarity with police officers, write a letter or send a card to the local police department, or share your positive experiences with law enforcers on social media, show appreciation and celebrate the hard work law enforcement officers do each and every day.

We sincerely appreciate our positive partnership with the Cinnaminson Police Department. We are so grateful to our school resource officer, Officer Tom Lillagore, for keeping our students, staff, and school safe. Thank You for your service and committment to our school and community!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

On Monday, January 16th, schools will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. In keeping with Dr. King's vision of a beloved community and serving others, students will learn about community service and participate in school based activities. Please take a moment to discuss the importance of Dr. King's message with your child through the eyes of Kid President: The Story of Martin Luther King, Jr. by Kid President.

A Message from Mrs. Conn & Ms. Mohler

Creating a Culture of Kindness...

Hello New Albany Parents and Guardians,

This month sparks lots of excitement at New Albany! January 23rd kicks off "The Great Kindness Challenge".

Each year, our students and staff collaborate on various kindness themed activities. This year, students will be participating in a school wide kindness chain. Each class will work hard to produce paper chains with kind words/compliments on each link. Once the week is over, each class will connect their links until we form a New Albany School Kindness chain.

The chain will be displayed in the hallway for admiration. We are very excited for this initiative to begin!

January is International Creativity Month

Being creative in the first month of the new year can set you up for a year of success. International Creativity Month was founded by Randall Munson, a speaker, an entertainer, and a bestselling author of books such as “Creativity 102.” This month is celebrated to inspire people to get out of their comfort zones and start being innovative in their daily lives. A fresh start in the new year can go a long way in building a successful and happy future. Change is only possible if an attempt is made to do something new.
