CONSCIOUS DISCIPLINE - Corner
Children learn self-discipline in three stages:
They find the limits by experimenting.
They retest their finding by repeatedly doing what they were told not to (including teasing/provoking) to see if the limit is firm.
If the limit proves firm, they internalize it.
So, parents, as difficult as it can be sometimes, stay firm. Avoid giving in. By setting limits, and sticking to them, you’re helping your child develop their self-discipline.
