Schedule Your Curbside Pickup
Curbside Concierge Available
Curbside Pickup Available!
Are you in need of a book, but unable to visit the Media Center? The Curbside Concierge program allows RMS and HTHS students and staff the opportunity to request books and pick them up from the main lobby of HTHS. Pickups are generally on Wednesdays, but patrons can arrange an alternate day.
- To view the library's book catalog, follow this link. Click the blue tab called "catalog." You will see all of the available books in the Media Center.
- When you see the book you want, email the title and the author to Mrs. Tagmire (atagmire@htsd.us). If you need the book by a particular day, please specify that in the email. Mrs. Tagmire will email you when your book is ready to be picked up.
- Your book will be in the lobby of HTHS on your chosen pickup day. When you are ready to return the book, simply bring it back to the HTHS lobby.
Enjoy and take advantage of this program! There is lots of great stuff available.
Create a Winter Craft
How to Make Ice Ornaments.
Materials
- A small shallow container such as a bowl, box, paper plate, etc. Shape does not matter, but it should not be too large. Some people use a cupcake tin.
- A long piece of string or ribbon, looped so it can hang on a branch.
- Bits and pieces of assorted items. Think nature--small branches, holly, leaves, berries, helicopter leaves, birdseed, etc.
- A pitcher of water.
Directions
1. Place your container flat on a flat surface.
2. Arrange your items (bits and pieces) within the container. You can arrange them so it makes a pattern or an image.
3. Place your loop of ribbon at the top. It is important the bottom of the ribbon extends partway into the container. If it is not down far enough, it will not be strong enough to hold the ornament when it hangs.
4. Slowly pour water into the container. Again, your container must be shallow, or else the items may start floating around.
5. Leave your container alone overnight or for several hours. It will freeze.
6. Carefully remove your frozen ornament from the container. Hang it up outside and enjoy!
If you include edible items such as birdseed, blueberries, etc. you will help feed hungry animals this winter once your ornaments begin in melt.
