What is evolution?
Seriously, what is it?
The Universal Theory
Evolution is a theory that states that all life on earth shares a common ancestor. It is what ties us all together. It's a slow process and doesn't happen overnight. It's fun to think about what your ancestors were like if you go back millions of years ago.
The Origin of the Theory
Charles Darwin wrote the book, "The origin of species." This book explained the theory of evolution. Charles Darwin wasn't the only person behind the theory, but he made a big impact on it.
Animals inherit mutations from their ancestors. New mutations are created because when an animal reproduces, the outcome isn't an exact copy. Mutations can develop over generations if they are passed on and form a new species.
