Principal's Note
Dear HHS Families,
We are still underway with State TCAP exams this week, and we will finish the regularly schedule TCAP exams this Friday.
Today is the last late start Wednesday of the semester. Next Wednesday, school will start at 8:30 for all students.
Next Wednesday and Thursday we will administer class Final Exams. Wednesday will be 1st and 2nd block exams and Thursday will be 3rd and 4th block exams. If students submit a parent signed leave early note (provided by their teacher), then they will be allowed and required to leave campus after their exams on these days. Parents, before signing these leave early notes, please ensure your student is passing his or her classes. If a student is failing a class, they should remain at school on Wednesday/Thursday afternoon to work on assignments to improve their grade.
Next Friday, December 17th is a half day for all students. Buses will run on a half-day schedule, and lunch will not be served at the school. Attendance is only mandatory for students who will need to take make-up exams. For students who have completed all classwork and exams, attendance is not mandatory.
Please see the new announcements below.
Have a great week!

Chromebooks
As we approach testing time for Halls High School, it is important to remember these facts:
- Every student should have a KCS Chromebook to take finals exams. If a student does not have KCS device, the software will not generate a test for that student. Some state exams will be given in the upcoming weeks on their Chromebooks.
- Final exams (for any class) this semester is worth 15% of that students’ grade. In other words, Finals do count toward student’s grades this year.
- Students should be checking their KCS email. Their email is their S(student#)_@student.knoxschools.org. The password is the same as the password used to log on their Chromebooks.
- Also, please make sure that students are charging their Chromebook every night. If a Chromebook does not charge, please have the student see Mrs. Polston, room 139 regarding replacement.
Senior Memo
Tardy Procedures
Students who are Tardy unexcused to school between 8:30 and 8:45 each morning will be assigned Silent Lunch on the same day. They will have to report to the Silent Lunch Room 404 within 5 minutes of the beginning of their lunch. If students are tardy to Silent Lunch or skip Silent Lunch, they will receive additional days of Silent Lunch or after school detention. If this pattern continues, parent/guardian conferences will be assigned.
Thank you for supporting us as we continue to help our students prepare for their future.
