How do you get this disorder?

Researchers have found a single cell mutation responsible for Progeria. The gene lamin A (LMNA) makes protein which holds the center of a cell together (also known as the nucleus). When this gene has a defect, researchers believe the genetic mutation makes cells unstable, which appears to lead to Progeria's aging process.
