Articles of Confederation.
Advantages vs Disadvantages.
Disadvantages of the Articles were that they had no power to revenue, no central government power, different currency between states, no power to enforce the states to obey laws, no way to gather an army, no power to regulate trade, and no national court system. Advantages were that with a weak central government the states had more power and it also was a learning experience for the founding fathers. From the Articles they learned what worked and what didn't work which helped them write the Constitution. The reason for the weak central government is because they were tired of a strong central government and thought it would be easier if the state had more power than the central government.
