A celebration of February
A message from the principal
Hello Garfield families and friends!
Another month has flown by! The warm weather is just around the corner---we just have to hang in there a little longer. We ended February with a bang! We welcomed 169 grandparents to eat lunch with their grandchildren, celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday, and threw in a night of celebrating learning and literacy--all the week before spring break!
Thank you to all who came to our celebrations! A huge of amount of planning goes into hosting events like these. Ms. Sadowski, our literacy QAS, played a key role in organizing the entire affair. We are so fortunate to have her on our team. Ms. Cunningham, our administrative assistant, also is a vital player for events like these. She does alot of work behind the scenes with communication and organization. Both deserve thumbs up, pats on the back, and a high fives! While Ms. Sadowski and Ms Cunningham are important to organizing, our teachers also deserve a big thank you as well. They put in a great deal of extra time to make the celebrations possible and memorable. Keep in mind that on learning and literacy night they worked an entire day then stayed several hours extra. Our teachers are truly special.
March will be another fast month considering we have the first week off! Hopefully the next time I sit down to write the March newsletter, we will beginning to see the trees blossom! Please remember to set aside just a little time each day for some quiet time to write, read, and/or play some fun math games on a computer while kids are off the first week of March. Learning doesn’t end when school is not in session! Spring break will be a great opportunity for kids to work on their reading goals to earn those free Green Bay Bullfrog tickets!!
Wishing all of you a wonderful spring break!!
Ms. Cassandra Schultz

Teacher request information
If you are thinking about a making a teacher requests for the 2018-19 school year, the request must be made in writing to the Principal/Building Coordinator by March 31st. The request must contain the academic, social, and/or behavioral needs of your child. We will do our best to match those specific needs to the teacher best suited to meet those needs. Please know, that we firmly believe all of our staff members are highly effective educators that provide the same curriculum in a safe learning environment. The information to request a teacher for a school will be documented for future in the parent handbook. Thank you
