Reading
This week, we are back to basics! Students will reexamine their reading interests, and our purpose for reading. We will set goals for our reading lives for the rest of the year in order to end strong!
Writing
Students are relieved to be taking a break from essays! This week we are writing poetry. We will start by seeing the world with poet’s eyes and will focus on using figurative language.
Social Studies
Texas faced a tough decision when decided if they should stay an independent nation or join the United States. This week we will analyze both sides of the argument.
Math
Students will continue working on measurement this week. Make sure your child is able to tell time, and is able to solve problems involving changes in time. We will begin perimeter and area later this week.
Science
Students will be going to the science lab this week to find out why the moon has phases. Students will also be making their own sun dials to observe changing shadows throughout the day.
