Invasion of the Woodbots

Woodbots have invaded the SHS Makerspace! What are woodbots? Whimsical creatures originating from hand tool and power tool training/safety review.

CTE Application

Click this link to apply for admission to any of the IWCS CTE Programs. Programs included in this application are: agriculture, culinary arts, welding, early childhood education/Little Sprouts, cosmetology, building trades and Certified Nurse Aide.

The deadline to apply to The Governor's School for Science and Technology is February 28, so if you want to apply, don't delay. The application process shouldn't take more than a few minutes - our online application asks for some straightforward biographical information, plus the contact email addresses for your current math and science teachers.

Senior News

Senior Dues: $75 (cash, check, or money order accepted)

  • Dues should be paid by Friday, March 24

  • Senior shirts will be ordered by April 3


Senior Social: Thursday, February 23, during Packer Block. Senior dues should be paid in order to participate.


Cap and Gown Delivery: Monday, March 27, and Friday, April 21

If you have not placed your cap and gown order on Jostens.com, please due so as soon as possible. If you would like to pay on site, feel free to bring $50 in cash on the dates listed above.

Senior Recognition Ads

The company that handles senior recognition ads for the yearbook has extended its deadline! Parents now have until March 1st to purchase an ad for the 2023 yearbook. See the attached order form for more details.

Underclassmen Scheduling

Letters were mailed home last week regarding underclassmen scheduling. If you would like to attend with your student, please contact your child’s school counselor. More information about scheduling can be found on the Smithfield High School counseling office website.
