McHenry High School District 156

Welcome message from Dr. McTague
I want to welcome all of our Warrior families back to school! I’m confident that we will provide a high level of academic instruction, support, and engagement throughout this remote learning period. The principals of both campuses have sent comprehensive opening day and digital learning messages to families. I just wanted to reiterate some important information for tomorrow:
The school day daily runs from 8:15 a.m.-3 p.m. with asynchronous work time and teacher office hours at the beginning and end of the day.
Students should be up and ready for class, appropriately dressed in a distraction-free environment by 9 a.m. for their first class on A/B days. Students with zero-hour classes start at 7:50 a.m. on “A” days.
Students should use their schedule to determine their first class and enter that course in Schoology to find the link to the video meeting at the top of the page. Your teacher will be taking video attendance at the beginning of class and students must have their video camera on throughout the period.
Please see the information below including our Updated Digital Leaning Board Presentation. Our mission continues, while navigating this remote learning environment, to find meaningful ways to connect and engage our students to their school, teachers, and each other. Thank you again for your support and understanding. I want to wish all of our students and families the very best for the new school year.
We Are Warriors and We Are One.

Superintendent of Schools

A message from the school health office
If you receive a letter or a phone message from this office asking for a physical or immunization documentation, please get back to us as soon as possible. Illinois School Code requires that all students have a valid physical and compliant immunization records. The state deadline is Oct. 15.
It is very important that all students are in compliance. Staff will contact families of any student not in compliance. You can have a physical and/or immunizations done by your doctor or at an immediate care clinic. If cost is an issue, the Family Health Partnership Clinic may be able to help. The phone number for that clinic is 779-220-9300.
The McHenry County Department of Health holds immunization clinics at many locations on different days and times. Their phone number is 815-334-4510.
Incoming 9th-graders must also have proof of a dental exam by May 15 of their first year in high school.
