Trexler Middle School - Promoting Excellence


Trexler Middle School now has a school wide Remind. This system will be used to inform parents of upcoming events and in the event of an emergency. Those parents that provided us with correct mobile numbers at the beginning of the year are already in the system. If you did not give us your number, or it has changed you can sign up to receive notifications by clicking on the flyer to the right, to enlarge the image, and then follow the directions.

Early Release Day

Thursday, March 23rd is an Early Release Professional Development Day. Students will be released at 11:15. Teachers and staff will be in training all afternoon so not parent/teacher conferences will be scheduled for that day.

Spring Picture Day

On Thursday, March 23rd we will have Spring Pictures taken by Strawbridge. The background theme will be country meadows. There are a number of packages available on a pre-pay basis. You may send payment in the envelope attached to the Spring Pictures flyer or make your payment online at using the online code from the flyer.

Military Resources

Over the next couple of weeks we will be sharing some resources that may be helpful to our students that are connected to the military.

This week's resource is from The Behavioral Health and Counselor Center:

The Behavioral Health Community Counseling Center offers counseling to service members and families – individual, group, family, and child/teen. They offer flexible scheduling as well as walk-in appointments. More information can be found here.

News for Rising 9th Graders

The high school registration process is an exciting time for parents and students. Faculty from Richlands High School came to speak with our 8th graders on Thursday, March 2nd about registration and at those meetings students received registration materials and a brief overview of high school procedures. Southwest High School will be here on Thursday, March 23rd to provide similar information for our students who will begin 9th grade there. Regardless of which school your student will attend they are are encouraged to bring back their registration materials to Trexler quickly.

The next phase for registration is parent informational meetings.

  • RHS parent meeting will be Monday, March 20th in RHS auditorium at 6:30pm.
  • SWHS parent meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 29th SWHS auditorium at 6:00pm.

Controlled Enrollment

Controlled Enrollment affords students the opportunity to apply for a specialized program that may not be offered at their home school. Those programs that are offered as part of controlled enrollment are:

· International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - JHS

· International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme - JHS

· Culinary Arts Academy - NHS

· Covey Leadership Series/Academy - WOHS

· Advanced/Applied Technologies Initiative - NHS

· Advanced Automotive/Transportation Technologies Initiative – SWHS

· Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC)-NHS

In order to be accepted into any of the programs students must complete some paper work and meet other requirements. Additionally transportation must be provided by the parent. More information about controlled enrollment and the requirements of the program can be found at the Secondary Course Study Guide starting on page 91.

Air Force JROTC

On Thursday, March 23rd at 8:00am the Northside High School AFJROTC will present to 8th grade students about this unique opportunity. The AFJROTC program educates and trains high school cadets in citizenship, promotes community service, instills responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provides instruction in air and space fundamentals.

This programs is offered to all rising 9th grade students as part of the Controlled Enrollment program. More information can be found on the Secondary Course Study Guide, page 93.


There will be a Concussion/MRSA meeting on Monday, March 20th at 6:00 pm in the library. Anyone trying out for baseball, who has not attended a meeting this school year, must attend to complete the necessary paperwork. Please make sure you have completed the athletic participation form, and have an up to date physical on file.
