Board Resolution

On January 31, be it resolved that the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association hereby proclaims the month of January as School Director Recognition Month in this Commonwealth.

Principal Certification

The Pennsylvania Department of Education approved CLIU 21 as the first agency to deliver an alternate pathways Level 1 Principal K-12 Certification for Pennsylvania.


Qualified candidates in Carbon and Lehigh counties will come together to collaborate and participate in a viable, cost effective, quality program designed specifically to meet the increasing demand around accountability and student achievement.

Educator and Employer Roundtable Discussion with the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board

School district and IU representatives met today for a Legislator, Educator and Employer Roundtable Discussion with the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board. Parkland School District Superintendent, Richard Sniscak, discussed their career pathways for students as well as Catasauqua Principal, David Ascani, explained the success of the school's partnership with BBraun that provides student internships. Dr. Robert Culp from CLIU 21 expressed the desire to utilize the IU in order to extend these partnerships in any way needed.

Student Forum

In December 2012, area forum members participated in inclusive activities such as dancing, board games, holiday crafts, and snack making with Whitehall HS students.
