God is at work in our region!

Not a week goes by that I don't hear an amazing story of God's people doing incredible things in the Sacramento region. I am so encouraged to live in a place where I can see God's relentless pursuit of his people! On behalf of Serve Sacramento, I am pleased to share a few stories here, including opportunities to take part in what is happening. Take a few minutes to read about a past service event, an upcoming rally for church unity, and an opportunity to serve the immigrant community!

Story of Service: The Kindness Project

On Sunday, June 22nd, The Fellowship of Marketplace Christians teamed up with Serve Partnerships Unlimited and KLOVE/AIR1 Radio to create and sign 130 encouragement cards for children in hospitals, soldiers, individuals facing homelessness, foster children and seniors in care homes. These cards were delivered to Shriners Hospital, Operation Worship, His Street Ministries and Agape Villages Foster Homes to encourage others with the love of Jesus!

Young volunteer, Dayton is hard at work on an elaborate card for a Shriners patient. Thank you to all who shared encouragement and the God who gives encouragement to people who need it most!

Love'In Sacramento unity and peace rally

Believers will gather this weekend to unify, celebrate, worship and pray in a 2 day rally hosted by Love’in Sacramento, a collaboration of local churches that come together in unity with a mission to show the City of Sacramento that God’s love is real, tangible, and unconditional for all mankind.

Love'In Sacramento

In April of this year, God stirred in Keturah Wallace’s heart an urgency to do more to share God’s love in Sacramento. God gave her a vision of the broken body of Christ coming together with the assurance that God is working to put His body back together in the region of Sacramento. Keturah decided to act on the verses in Acts 2:44, a passage that describes the early church unifying with all things in common. The result was that God added to their number daily those who were being saved. Keturah realized that in the unity of the early church, God added to their number. and only in unity will God do so today.

After speaking with friends, meeting with some key Christian leaders in the region and picking the Capital as a meeting place, Keturah is excited to announce and invite all who are interested to attend a Love’In Sacramento 2 day event beginning with a unity rally held on Saturday July 19th at the State Capital. On Sunday, July 20th there will be a “Stop the violence peace rally- pray for my hood” in South Sacramento featuring a concert from Hog Mob (Hooked on God, Ministry Ova’ Bizness) Ministries, a group of rap artists who use their gifts to impact the culture for the Kingdom of God.
