Romantic era. His style was very emotional, always beautiful melodies, Brilliant! His music usually started out slow and calm slowly speeding up as the music played on.

How Did He Grow Up?

Began Piano lessons at 5. His mother died at 14. His Parents wanted him to become a lawyer so they sent him to law school, but he knew he wanted to be in music. So he studied music instead, he was harshly criticized by his teachers.

Adult Years

He was a very sensitive person got upset about little things. He married a young music student. Tchaikovsky was homosexual, he began having an affair with a young man with a richer family. The family then became concerned and sent some people to kill him, the people then forced Tchaikovsky to commit suicide.

What is MY interpretation of this music?

Slow, soft, reminds me of Christmas because it has been used in the Nutcracker.

His Music Career

Tchaikovsky composed "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" with is still used today. He also composed two famous ballets- "Sleeping Beauty" and the "Nutcracker".
