Weekly Update - February 19, 2021
Dear Selby Families,
I hope everyone had a great family weekend. It was nice to have the extra day to enjoy the snow and sunshine. Some of our families also had an extra long weekend with the snow day as well. Please note that the school is open when busses are cancelled but you have to make arrangements to pick your child up by 3:40.
This week students have been engaged in many enriching experiences: learning about pulleys and gears in Mr. Sunderland's class, discussing daily cycles in Mr. Craig's class and reading the Forest of Reading books in many of our classes.
You should have received your child's report card this week. If you need more information on your child's progress or you are concerned, do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.

Prince Edward-Lennox and Addington Social Services (PELASS), Children's Services Division, is responsible for planning child care services and assessing need/demand for services in the Counties of Prince Edward and Lennox and Addington.
There has been an identified need for both a licensed child care centre and a before and after school program in the Selby area.
To assist us in determining the need for these programs, we are asking you to complete a short survey. The completion of the survey does not indicate any type of commitment on your part or from the County of Lennox and Addington, but provides us with an indication of possible interest in these programs.
The average fees for licensed child care programs are as follows:
Infants - $57/day Toddlers - $47/day Preschoolers - $42/day
Before School – $11/day After School - $13/day Before and After School -$21.50/day

KFL&A Public Health Immunization Announcement
KFL&A Public Health will be postponing the enforcement of the Immunization of School Pupils Act for this school year and will not implement suspension actions this spring. Nevertheless, we ask that parents report any required vaccine(s) that a student has already received by the proposed deadline of February 18th, 2021.
Students missing vaccines, can see their regular health care provider as soon as possible and then update their record with KFL&A Public Health.
Students without a health card or doctor can book an appointment to receive free vaccines at KFL&A Public Health clinics. Go to //kflaph.ca/Appointments to book an appointment.
We recognize this may be a stressful time however we encourage families to provide the requested information due to the heightened importance of protecting against vaccine preventable disease outbreaks in our school communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
