Welcome Back!
If you were unable to make our Open House "Lions on the Lawn" event, we missed you! Please take time to listen to a welcome back message from Mrs. Breaux and Dr. Powell. Also, check out our welcome back lip sync challenge from our awesome staff!
First Week of School
For the remainder of the first week of school, kindergarten and 1st grade parents can walk students down the classroom. All other students will be asked to walk independently or with a staff member.
For pre-k students, teacher assistants will meet all students getting dropped off by parents in the multipurpose room right at the entrance to the school. Starting the second week of school, all students will walk down to the class independently or with the assistant of a staff member.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
School Security
New this year, schools across VBCPS will have a video intercom system at the front entrance to each building. During the school day, our front doors will remain locked. To access entry to the building, please ring the doorbell. Either our security assistant or an office associate will greet you through the intercom. Please be prepared to let us know why you are visiting before we allow you entry into the building. We will also continue to require identification for all visitors. Identification will get scanned through our system in order to obtain a visitor pass. We love our volunteers and parents, and we want to ensure student safety when we have visitors. Thank you for supporting our efforts to keep Lynnhaven Elementary safe.

Grandparents' Day
VBCPS Partners with Securly
As part of the division’s commitment to safe and effective use of technology, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) is excited to announce the addition of Securly Parent Portal, a web-filtering tool offering parental controls and reports on division-issued devices.
After a successful field-test at several schools, VBCPS will now offer all parents the option to use Securly to monitor how their children are using their school-issued devices. Parents will be able to view online activity outside of the classroom, such as sites browsed, social media use and activity, and items searched.
In late September, after schools finalize assigning student devices, parents can expect to receive an email with more information about Securly registration or how to unsubscribe.
