Pioneer Trail Mission

The mission of Pioneer Trail is to create a community of learners where students' are actively engaged to reach their potential and display positive character. (DRAFT)

Character Trait: Compassion/Kindness

Concern for others, being generous, friendly, and considerate.

January 4th PD

January 4th is designated at a Professional Development Day for the district. The decision has been made to use the entire day for PD focus on instructional strategies, (instead of a portion of the day for grades, grading papers, etc.) Since this is a contracted day for teachers, requests for leave will be granted only for emergency situations. As set forth by district policy, requests for leave on workdays directly before or after major holidays are not normally granted. Thus, requests for leave on January 4th will not be granted. If you have an emergency situation please contact your building administrator.

Additionally, the following activities have been planned for Special Education Staff:

-SLP's, Resource teachers, and School Psychological Examiners will attend Central Auditory Processing Disorder Training with CapRegion Specialists.

-Paraprofessionals have a full day of Autism Training with the Thompson
Center at Hawthorn.

-Small groups will be attending Initial CPI training.

Teamwork Tuesday

The work last week with Pam Starr in grades 3,4,5 was really great. She is incredibly helpful. She will be meeting with K,1,2 next Tuesday so be sure to have your questions ready for her.

Nuts and Bolts

Please close the K-1 pod doors after the AM walkers go out. We have kindergarten and first grade students wandering down to the pod before 8AM.

We are going to need additional supervision in AM/PM gym, so third quarter duty roster will be assigned and the schedule will be sent out before break.

Infinite Campus grade books must be updated by the end of each Tuesday with the previous weeks grades.
