Positivity Project-Kindness
This week during P2, students will be diving in to the Character Strength of Kindness. Students will develop an understanding that all human beings have worth and that others are just as important as themselves. We cannot wait to see the kindness that is shown in our building this week as our students work to build their knowledge around this important character strength. Be sure to ask your students what they are learning and talking about each day in relation to Positivity Project and how they can show these strengths in and outside of school!
“No kind action ever stops with itself. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up to make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.”
-AMELIA EARHART
Boosterthon!
Boosterthon is almost here and we cannot wait to enjoy it with our students. This year, we will be raising money to uplift our interiors, support technology, and to slide away at field day! We are so grateful for your support of this program as we continue our efforts to offer the best for our students everyday! We are excited to introduce our students to this years Booster team and to continue our work of building strong character within our students through this program!
This year’s main fundraiser is the Holly Springs Fun Run! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a pep rally on 9/20 (T2,3,4) & 10/1 (T1). Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps) at the Holly Springs Fun Run, which will happen on 9/27 (T4) & 10/8 (T1,2,3). This year our goal is to raise $35,000 to Upfit Our Interior, Support Technology, and Slide Away at Field Day, and we need your help! We’ve asked the experts at booster to power our fundraiser to make it easier, more profitable, and more fun.
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, mindspark: wild west! Booster’s most exciting theme yet combines s.t.e.a.m. skills (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the mindspark kids to save dr. Shock, our students will learn five character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
Please help our school by getting pledges from family and friends and entering them on funrun.com. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on our students at the Holly Springs Fun Run. Thanks so much for your support!

- All new volunteer applicants must register and have an approved criminal record check prior to engaging in volunteer work.
- All continuing volunteers approved for the 2019-2020 school year MUST reactivate as a volunteer no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 31, 2019. Current volunteers, who provide a valid email address, will receive an email 15 days and 30 days prior to the expiration of their volunteer status reminding them to reactivate.
- Guests: Visitors who are never left alone with students are considered guests. They do not need background checks. Typical examples would include speakers, presenters and community members/parents attending a school event.
- Volunteers: Visitors who may be alone with students at any point do require background checks. There are no "levels" of volunteer status. You are either a volunteer who may be alone with students or you aren't. Typical examples range from a community volunteer who reads with a child to an overnight chaperone, as well as field day workers, testing proctors, and volunteer coaches.
