Lakeridge Middle School Replacement

- The contractor is excavating the site to prepare the soils for the building foundation. A large rock field was encountered under the north half of the building. Identifying the extent and profile of the rock field has required additional exploration and development of different subgrade profiles for the various conditions
- Subgrade for the gym and locker room area is complete and footings are formed for the gyms. The first concrete pour will occur after the building permit is received
- The building permit is being reviewed by the City. The design team is responding to City questions as they are received
- The Public Works permit for construction on Jean Road will start upon receipt of the permit

Forest Hills Elementary Renovation

Initial design advisory team meetings between Hallinan stakeholders, Senior Project Manager David Lageson, Project Coordinator Debbie Hansen, and Soderstrom Architects occurred in April and May 2019. Design work will continue through the summer months, working with the bond team and Principal Melissa Griffiths.

Uplands:
- In the classroom/admin areas, the contractor has completed the seismic upgrades, framing, mechanical, and plumbing rough-in and the roofing moisture barrier. Gypsum board is being installed along with plumbing fixtures
- Work in the gym started after students were released for summer break
- Installation of the 4-classroom modular building is underway and expected to be complete by the end of June
- The classroom technology data cabling is underway
- Oak Creek furniture and equipment will be moved into Uplands in phases as wings of the building are completed. The administrative office will move first in early July
Oak Creek:
- The scope of work at Oak Creek includes complete re-cladding of the building (new siding, windows, and roofing), a secure vestibule, a new makerspace, and several interior modifications to allow for better use of space
- The contractor will start investigative work and site preparation in June. Removal of the existing siding will begin in July
- The design team is working on district requested additional scope, including kitchen renovations, classroom A/V upgrades, and restroom renovations
- The Oak Creek project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2020 and reopened for the 2020-21 school year
Safety and Security Improvements

Planning and Development Consultant –True North Security Consultants
Project Overview
Upgrades of safety and security features district-wide include secure vestibules and controlled entryways, access control, security camera systems, security communications, and facilities control systems, intruder locks, and improvements of exterior doors. True North Security Consultants are assisting the district with the development of security plans, programs, policies, and procedures.
True North has provided a full assessment report and recommendations for safety and security projects for all facilities in the district. During the month of July, True North will brief the district on findings and next steps for implementation.
Technology Infrastructure Improvements

Phase 2 of technology infrastructure upgrades will continue across the district during the 2019/2020 school year, including the following:
- Upgrades to all existing network cabling to high-speed CAT 6a
- Procurement of STEM and makerspace technology equipment
- Procurement and installation of new emergency communications and classroom communications paging systems for all LOSD facilities
- Procurement of additional staff technology equipment
- Procurement and installation of select classroom media equipment
River Grove and Lake Oswego Junior High Renovations

Project Overview
Deferred maintenance renovation with architectural improvements, including safety and security, makerspace, STEM space, and seismic upgrades.
The Scope of Work at Lake Oswego Junior High includes deferred maintenance work on roofs and mechanical systems, revitalizing finishes, providing additional building security, and technology infrastructure improvements. The current building entry will be reconfigured to provide a new layer of security for students and staff. A new temporary gymnasium of approximately 8,550 square feet will serve the expanded Physical Education programs. LOSD will concurrently develop multiple areas on site including modular classrooms added north of the existing classroom wing to serve special programs.
The Scope of Work at River Grove Elementary School includes revitalizing finishes, improving building security, seismic upgrades, re-roofing, deferred maintenance work, and improved program space. The current building entry will be reconfigured to provide a new layer of security for students and staff. A new modular building will be added to serve the makerspace program.
Project Activity and Scope of Work details:
- INLINE Construction has provided a GMP that is undergoing evaluation
- Permitting is in progress
- DRC hearing is scheduled for June 17
Westridge Elementary School Renovation

Project Overview
Westridge Elementary will receive work to address deferred maintenance, safety and security improvements, seismic remediations, accessibility improvements, plumbing code requirements, and educational programming.
Construction commenced on June 11 and is scheduled for completion by August 19
