Principal Newsletter of the Month
Highlights since the last newsletter
We were proud to welcome our local Veterans on November 9 to eat lunch and interact with our students during their lunch periods. The Veterans spoke highly of the kids and truly enjoyed the time they got to spend with our students.
On November 19, we had a visit from the GHS Champions. These mentor students visited all classrooms and provided lessons to our students on the importance of leading a life full of good choices. They place a strong emphasis on making the important decision of saying no to alcohol and drugs. A big thank you also goes out to Starting Point who assists with this wonderful program.
Our school wide PBIS focus has been staying organized. This is always a challenge for many students at the middle school age to find a sound system of organization. As we have done many times before, we launched this focus with a video for the student body. You can view the video in the youtube link at the bottom of this newsletter.
We welcomed 23 businesses into our building on November 30. Students were able to select 4-30 minute sessions that they wanted to attend to learn about careers opportunities that interested them. A special thanks goes to Pam King from the Grafton Chamber of Commerce for helping us organize this wonderful opportunity for our students.
On December 4, we were entertained by all of our band and choirs with a Holiday concert. It is so wonderful to see and hear these students in action. A big shout out to Mr. Arendt and Mr. Dimmer for teaching all the students during the day and providing more music opportunities for students before school every day of the week!
