The weather has begun to change with longer days and more sunshine. This time of year always reminds us of new beginnings and rebirth of the Earth with all the flowers and trees blooming. It is exciting to see kids playing outside, riding their bikes, and the start of picnics.

With all the excitement the Spring brings there are a few things we need to keep in mind. Students will be going outside for recess more often and appropriate dress for the weather is needed. As the weather continues to become warm throughout the month, tank tops, sandals without back straps, flipflops, and short shorts are NOT permitted. Although it is warming up outside the school temperature adjusts and may be cooler than outside. If you have questions, please contact your child's teacher or principal.

Thank you to all the students who donated to the United Way of Trumbull County throughout the month of March. Students donated coins, bought sno-cones, and participated in the quarter drop to raise approximately $950. The students at Jefferson are awesome giving back to the community. The United Way funds multiple programs within the Warren City Schools.

Jefferson has been fortunate over the last several years to have trained peer mediators. Students in grades 4 through 8 are selected through an application process and teacher nominations. The students spend multiple hours training to become peer mediators. The students were honored during a brief ceremony on March 15th. Congratulations to all peer mediators!

The Raider Pantry is available to all Jefferson families in need. The pantry includes food items (frozen and non-perishable items), personal care products, and clothing in limited sizes. If you are in need of any items, please contact Miss Stacey or the school liaisons at 330-675-6960 ext. 6152.
