MAP Assessments Continue Next Week
Our CE2-CM2 students have done a great job with MAP testing this week! Our new technology has completely streamlined our testing times. Thanks to all of you for making the additional investment in school resources!
Next week students in GS-CE1 will test during Block 1 (8:15 - 9:15 am) and Block 2 (10:05 - 11:25 am) of their day. Please refer to the email from PLT regarding for more details and the MAP testing schedule.
Merci to Jérémie Royer!
Our students shared amazing and memorable experiences today working with our visiting author, Mr. Jérémie Royer, author of the extremely successful graphic novel Sur les ailes du monde, Audubon. His fascinating work created an great opportunity for interdisciplinary studies at AIS with students examining his work from artistic, historical, and scientific points of view. Students enjoyed the opportunity to ask Mr. Royer questions in French and even work with him on various drawings. Mr. Royer was also kind to offer a very unique signed and illustrated copy of a French version his work to the school, which will be up for auction at our Spring Gala. Merci encore, M. Royer! And bravo to the students for their beautifully inspired aviary drawings. Make sure to check them out in the hallway by the admissions office.

- Wellness Check Form: A student wellness check must be completed every year, without exception. The wellness check form must indicate the date of the exam (i.e., not simply the date the form was signed) and wellness checks must have taken place within the last calendar year. If a wellness check is scheduled to take place after the previous wellness check has expired, please inform the school in writing (reception@austinis.org) of the upcoming wellness check date.
- Immunization records: All vaccine requirements are listed on our school’s website. This information includes which vaccines are required, the documentation that must be on file, and information about exemptions, if appropriate. Texas Administrative Code §97.66(a) requires our school to exclude students are not in compliance with the vaccine requirements.
We thank you for your support to ensure that your children’s records comply with the laws of the State of Texas. If you have any questions about these requirements, please do not hesitate to contact Jacques at your convenience.
