Kirk Fenton News
8th February 2019
Dear Parents / Carers,
This week has again seen some sporting success in cross country and dodgeball events across both key stages and as always our pupils represented our school with perseverance, thankfulness and respect for all. Thank you to them for doing such a great job.
Having been at the Kirk Fenton for a year now I would like to start thinking about how to drive the school forward over the coming years and what that will look like in practice. I would therefore like to set up a 'parent council' to contribute alongside our governors, leadership and staff teams and pupil council. This would involve a group of around 12 -15 parents spanning all classes meeting in school for a couple of hours each half term, so six times per year during the school day. The aim of these meetings is to discuss the whole school needs and goals and meetings will be carefully structured in order to do this. They are not designed for parents to discuss individual classes or pupils for which the class teacher is the first point of call. They are instead for me to gain a parental view of changes required, issues and successes through discussion and feedback. If you would be interested in doing this and can attend school during the day, then please email admin@kf.starmat.uk and I will contact you from there.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams

District Cross Country 2019
There was lots of nervous excitement when 12 KS2 children travelled by bus to Selby College for the District Cross Country Final. Y3 and Y4 ran 1200m whilst Y5 and Y6 ran 1500m. It was perfect running weather and a great atmosphere. All our runners showed perseverance and endurance. Well done Holly, Niamh, George, Charlie, Hattie, Evie, Georgia, Lottie, Eloise, Edie, Evie and Isaac - you made us proud!
Congratulations to George (1st), Charlie (4th), Eloise (2nd) and Evie (8th) who won places in the North Yorkshire final at Dalby Forest in March. Good luck!
