Changes in the Media Center
Mrs. Gosnell who had been the media assistant for fourteen years retired in September. We are happy to introduce a new assistant. Her name is Matracia Lawentrz. She is originally from West Virginia but moved to South Carolina after getting married to a Landrum High School graduate! Our students are making her feel right at home! Congratulations to Mrs. Gosnell on her retirement and congratulations to Mrs. Larwentz on her new job!
Veteran's Day Breakfast
Once again we will be honored to have our local veterans come for breakfast on November 11. Our students and honor chorus entertained them with patriotic songs. The PTO provided breakfast. And student contributed letters, art work and poetry that decorated the cafeteria. It was a wonderful day of recognition for our brave men and women who have served and are still serving our country.

Reading Minutes
Did you know the the one activity that has been proven over and over to increase your child's success in school is to read for at least 20 minutes every day outside of school? Research proves that students who read on a regular basis raise their percentile rank significantly. How easy is that? As a parent, you can help by talking with your child about what they read and asking questions to make sure they understood. And you can read with them....no matter what the age. Childhood is gone quickly. What beautiful memories your children will have of you reading with them!
