16 & voting?Definitely!
Give them a chance!!
Can the everlasting law be broken? I hope it can!
For a while now 18 year olds are considered adults, like on those commercials "you must be 18 or older to call." why not start 16 year olds so they'll know how to handle stuff when their older.
Teens should be able to vote. I propose a question to you as a reader... do you think 16 year olds should be allowed to vote?
should teens 16 and up be given the unending power to vote? Of course, because they pay taxes and live under our laws, most teens are already responsible and it will give them a head start on a successful future.
Paying taxes & following laws
They pay taxes and live under our laws... yet they still don't get a say? "You may be a teen, you may not even have a permanent job, but you still have to pay taxes on the money you earn." Says the IRS. 9.7 billion dollars in sales taxes alone, and most of those people who pay those taxes are teens 16-19. most teens eat out alot because they don't know how to cook. Well when you eat out and you get your bill you always have to pay taxes, and since they eat out alot, thats alot of taxes. Enough to make them go broke before thier adventures in life begin. They live under our laws and support the goverment yet, they still have no say in voting.
Teens are responsible
Most teens are already responsible to be given the power to vote. What kind of confusing message do we send when we tell teens that they are judged good, mature, responsible adults when they commit a crime, but silly, brainless kids when they want to vote? 80% of high school students work at some point before graduation. I admit voting is a powerful thing but, driving is even more powerful,we give 16 year olds the power to take away lives but, not the power to check mark on a peice of paper? If they can handle being responsible and saving lives, then they can handle voting. As you can see, most teens are already responsible enough to be voting.
Succsussful future for teens
Lastly, I want my teen to have a succsussful future. Don't you?"It gives them a chance to get involved in politics." Says Harriet Harman. There is a generation of young people who never get in the voting habit. If we start teens young their sure to do much more when their older. Its an honor to be apart of congress or legistlative or even president. Voting gets teens intrested young so thy'll have time to be apart of the goverment. Teen can't have a succsussful life with out a succsussful future.
In conclusion, should teens 16 and up be given the unending power to vote? Definetly, because they pay taxes and live under our laws, most teens are already responsible and it will give them a head start on a succsussful future. Give teens a chance! Your counting on them, more than thier counting on you! I propose one last question to you as a reader, whats your opinon now?
