Reardan FFA - Tremendous Success at State!
Never before has every individual and every team that has competed at the Washington State FFA Convention for Reardan FFA made the finals and earned a state placing. Just to earn a state placing in a Washington CDE/LDE is a remarkable accomplishment to say the least, much less have an entire delegation from one chapter accomplish that feat. I honestly couldn’t be more proud of what our kids accomplished over the year, and in particular, over the past couple of weeks. They overcame obstacles that most teams couldn’t. Faced adversity that most teens wouldn’t. And accomplished feats that many thought, including themselves, they shouldn’t.
All of the students know how extremely proud of them we are as advisors. We tell them that, show them that. However, as impressive as they were in regards to their performances, not a single person stepped onto that bus Saturday night in Kennwick satisfied. That competitive spirit and fire speaks volumes to the trajectory of the program and to the heart and soul of our students in this program. We are building the right types of men and women - competitive, compassionate, driven, hard working, goal oriented, cooperative, and committed to excellence. Love these guys and gals!

Happy Spring,
This time of year is extremely busy for families. If your student is absent please call the office, if your student needs to leave during the day we have to talk to a parent prior to the student leaving. As the weather warms up it is important that we are still following our dress code, please see the student handbook. This week has seen an increase in student behaviors, please remind your student to follow all school rules. If you have any questions, please reach out to me by phone or email.
Thanks,
JoLynn Ray

Middle School Update
It was a fun week at RMS with spirit week! We had lots of participation, especially on Twin Day. Students needed this week to decompress between state tests. Next week we will have the Math SBA and that will wrap up state testing for us this year. We have field trips planned for 7th and 8th grade rewards for all students who have no office or bus referrals for the month of May. This will be our final PBIS reward event for this year. Our students have really worked hard to earn their reward activities this year and deserve to be celebrated. Middle School ASB is raising funds for next year with a Walk-a-Thon. So far the 8th grade is outpacing the 7th graders, so encourage your student to take part!
Shoutout to our band director, Grayson Goodman for a fantastic spring concert spanning grades 5-12. What a showcase of talent! If you would like to hear students perform in solos and ensembles, come to the Symphony of Sweets on May 24th in the commons from 6-8 pm. You can purchase a fun dessert and enjoy some of our amazingly talented students performing. If you would like to donate a dessert to help with this fundraiser, please contact either Mr. Goodman or Debi Newsum.
Upcoming Events:
May 23-24 SBA for Math (please limit appointments if possible)
May 25th–8th grade field trip to Silverwood (Parent high school orientation meeting @ 6 pm)
May 26th –7th grade trip to EWU Ropes Course
June 6th–Interested 7th graders to ride the Hiawatha Trail
