Welcome Back!!

I hope you have had an amazing break with your friends and family celebrating the holidays and ringing in a new year! I know that it has been a great time of relaxing and reflecting for me and my family. Each new year brings a fresh start. Have you thought about these questions as this new year started?

What went well for me last year?

What can I change to make better?

What new adventures are in store for me in the new year?

This is a great time to pull out your individual and team goals from the beginning of the year and reflect on your progress.

Am I on track?

Do I need to tweak something to continue progress?

Did I meet my goals and need to set new ones?

We are here to help you reach any goals. Just let us know what you need.

Enjoy today and be prepared for tomorrow. We have to put on real pants in the morning. :)

Missed you,

Writing Around the School Day

Just a reminder about Wednesday, Jan 6th. Thank you writing team for organizing this!!

You will get your kids together with the teacher or teachers in the attached email and spend time writing together to the following prompt:

“Write about something special you did with your family over the break.”

It will be up to you and your writing partner(s) what time and where to get together. The writing team just asks that everybody get together on that day. Students can pair up or work in threes, whatever works best, combining grade levels. We’d love to be able to post some of the finished products in the hallway. One idea would be that the younger student illustrate what the older student writes. Another is that the students work together on the idea and the older student put the pencil to the paper. This will be a great way to build a writing community across the school as we head into our writing season.

Please get in contact with the teacher(s) that you are paired up with to coordinate time and place on this day. We’d love to see the halls overflowing with writing. Let any of us know if we can assist you in any way.

January Testing

Attached to the email is an overview draft of the testing happening this month on campus. Changes may occur. A more specific calendar will be sent to teachers and small group administrators.

Our MOY testing is beginning soon. This is the time that any adjustments need to be discussed for test accommodations if they are needed. After the checkpoints, we need to have most decisions made for students. Please let me know if you have any questions.
