Mustang News - Friday, April 22nd
From The Principal...
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to an informative Mustang Safe & Strong Day this week. Student Council and the High School District Wellness Team joined together for an important safety event. Thank you to local agencies including TESSA, Safe2Tell, The Place, Metro Vice & Narcotics Unit, Colorado Springs Police DUI Unit, Manitou Springs Police Department, and several others for sharing time and resources with our students and staff.
Prom is tonight at Hillside Gardens. We wish our students a fun and memorable night. Thank you to the staff members and students that work so hard leading up to this special event. We appreciate the energy that goes into planning Prom Night. Have a great time Mustangs!

From The Pikes Peak Library District...
- PPLD offers online Workforce Readiness Training (https://research.ppld.org/workforce-readiness-training). If completed the teen will receive 10 volunteer hours. Teens can put this experience on a resume. Employers throughout the community know that PPLD provides this training and like when they see that teens have gone through this training.
- Teens can also write a book review to earn volunteer hours. One review equals one volunteer hour. (https://ppld.org/review-crew)
- If teens would like to volunteer in person they will need to fill out a volunteer application (https://app.betterimpact.com/PublicOrganization/a800b035-46f8-4094-b92f-86e260479b8c/1). I will let you know that if teens need a lot of volunteer hours they may be referred to another PPLD location other than the Manitou Springs Library or the Ute Pass Library. Unfortunately the Manitou Springs and Ute Pass Libraries are small and do not have a lot for volunteers to help with.
- Here is a list of other close locations that I have talked to that can help those volunteers that need more hours. All of these locations are part of the Pikes Peak Library District so the applications will be the same.
- - Cheyenne Mountain Library
- - Old Colorado Library
- - Penrose Library
