Reminders and Thank you!
Last week, we shifted to having TK and 1st -6th grade students walk to the blacktop when they are dropped off in the morning. We had to make this change to give students the space to remain physically distanced. There just wasn't enough room at the front of the school in order to do this and make sure we are complying with the CDPH guidelines that will allow us to remain open.
While students now have the space to remain physically distanced, we need all parents to also follow the guidelines and remain 6 feet apart while on campus. TK, K and1st grade parents are the only parents permitted to be on campus for drop off and pick up. When you drop off, remain 6 feet apart and exit campus swiftly after your child walks onto campus (toward the blacktop or to class).
We know this isn't ideal, but need your cooperation in order to remain open.
Thank you to all of you who are already doing this and helping us follow protocols for health and safety!
4/19-4/23 - Book Fair is back - but with some changes for health and safety...
There are two ways to shop the book fair. You can send money with your child when it is their turn to shop in the library. The other option is to view the slides of what is available at book fair and complete the FORM to Purchase by 4/21 at 5 pm. After Mrs. Chisum receives your order, she will then total up the order & email the cost since tax must be included. Upon receipt of payment, Mrs. Chisum will deliver the items to the student at their classroom.
There are always a great variety of books for kids to read & enjoy at Book Fair. Summer is fast approaching and the Book Fair is a great opportunity to get books for summer reading to prevent the "summer slide".
The book fair is also a great fundraiser for the school and allows us to get new books for the library & fund the online exploration program used by the primary grade kids - Pebblego.

Open House Update
Our annual TK-6 Open House is scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2021. Unfortunately, due to continuing restrictions on large gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are cancelling Open House this year at our elementary schools. We look forward to resuming this important community event in the 2021-22 school year.
Thursday, May 13 was scheduled to be a minimum day. However, with the cancellation of Open House, we are changing this day back to a full instructional day with normal school hours : 8:25-2:55. Please adjust your schedules accordingly.
