This Week at Young
Check Presentation from IPEF
Thank you to our staff, student, and parent runners for representing Young School at the Naperville Half-Marathon/5K. The Young Team raised $5,266.
$2,633 will go to Young School and $2,633 will go to the IPEF.
Chorus and Drums Concert
On Tuesday the Young Chorus and Drum Group performed for Young students for a morning assembly and Young families during an evening concert.

Chicago Steel Assembly
Chicago Steel players came to speak to Young students regarding the importance
of character traits.
On January 19 the Young PTA is having a PTA Chicago Steel Night. Come join the fun and see Mr. Maldonado throw out the puck at the beginning of the game.
Feed My Starving Children Visit
On Wednesday night Young's Kindness Club visited Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for children in countries needing food support.

Community Based Instruction Trip to Target and CiCi's
Young School Kindness Bingo
During the month of December Young classrooms have participated in the Classroom Kindness Bingo. Students are demonstrating the many ways that they are showing kindness around the school building.

Fourth grade Bose students rocked at explaining multiplication - using different strategies like partial product, standard algorithm and area model or place value charts. Flipgrid videos help student view and learn from each other. Take a look at the link below.
Second grade Jamieson students are using the Snowman Game to practice place value! Reach 1,000 on his hat by trading up and you're the winner.

Culver's PTA Dolphin Day (12/17)
WHEN: Monday, December 17, 2018 from 10am - 10pm
WHERE: Culver's Restaurant on Rt 59 & 75th
The restaurant's mascot, Scoopie, will be at the school during dismissal to greet the student in preparation for the afternoon/evening event.
At the restaurant there will be a classroom sign-in sheet. Be sure to sign in your student as the class with the most students will receive a FREE Custard Party on behalf of Culver's.
