Reminder about attendance
It is widely understood that one of the most important factors leading to student success is attending school on a regular basis.
North Carolina Compulsory Attendance Law requires all enrolled students to attend school regularly. There are certainly situations over which we have no control. These excused absences would include absence due to:
- Illness or Injury
- Doctor’s appointment
- Death in the Family
- Religious Observance
- Court
The absence will be excused if a note from a parent or doctor is brought to school when the student returns.
We respectfully request that families refrain from taking their children out of school for additional vacation time. Such absences are unexcused and place an unnecessary burden on both students and teachers. Your support in ensuring our students' regular, on time attendance at school is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
The Attendance Committee
