Meet Mr. Prickett

I'm excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve the Wildcat community at Greenwood Elementary. By way of Kansas, I found my way to the Kansas City area where I met my wonderful wife, Melissa, who is a nurse at Children's Mercy Hospital. We call Greenwood home and live on the north side of town with our two boys. For the past 7 years, I taught 5th grade at Trailridge Elementary. I hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Ed. Specialist's Degree in Administration. I value and will strive to lead with consistency, relationships, and service. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family. That being said, I look forward to getting to know the Wildcat community and helping your children thrive this year!

West Play Area Removal

We have a large play area on the west side of our property that is not up to code. In the evaluation of the space and needs of students, we have decided to go in a different direction in this space. Given the age and condition of the play equipment and surrounding area, and in consideration of the best use of the space, we are going to remove the play equipment. The track, which is also in disrepair, will eventually be repaved.

Families can expect a large, green space, with a surrounding track, that will be used as another safe play area for K-5 students during the school day. It also provides a space for outdoor PE classes and an outdoor learning classroom.

We are so excited to have this new space to meet the needs of our students, school, and community!
