Roosevelt Weekly Parent Info
Happy Thursday! A few reminders as we begin the year:
~ Rocky Time: Did your child tell you about our first Rocky Time which was held this week on Tuesday? Basically, we met our new friends in our Rocky Time group, and we shared a strength each of us had and something that each of us could improve upon. It feels awesome to be back with our groups!!!! If you'd like to view more information, here's a link to the parent letter.
~ Walk & Bike To School Day is Wednesday, October 2. Special prizes will be awarded for students who participate in this event. If students are not able to walk/bike to school, please encourage them to participate in the ALPS course that day.
~ Open House & Book Fair: Mark your calendar...Thursday, October 24 is the Roosevelt Open House and Book Fair. This event will look a little bit different this year. More information to come soon about this, so stay tuned!
~ Walk-A-Thon: The Roosevelt Walk-A-Thon officially kicked off on September 13. Hopefully you've been able to collect some donations over the course of the last two weeks. Prizes will be given out to those students who raise $75 or more, as well as for those students who ask the most people. If you can volunteer to help with the walk on October 4, please email Kelsey Bellig at kelseybellig@gmail.com. Money can be brought in anytime, with the official turn-in day of Wednesday, October 2. The PTO will be counting money on October 3, so having it turned in in advance of the walk is very helpful.
Here's all the info you need about the actual day of the walk:
• All warm-ups will begin in the gym, regardless of the weather. If you plan to walk with your child, please arrive at the gym at your child's designated time.
• Students will exit the gym on the north side (little kids side), turn to the right, and take the sidewalk on Owatonna Street (in front of the angled parking) to get to the trail. If the weather is uncooperative, we will be walking throughout the building.
• When classes return, they will grab water, bagel, etc., take a short break, and then return to their classrooms. This happens on the tar by the playground (or in the cafeteria if it’s raining).
