FBMS Newsletter

We are now in full hybrid mode....
Students are working 5 Days a Week
When students are not present in school, they are working remotely. Assignments are posted to CANVAS each day. See the schedule below. Although students are here two days in person, they are still working three other days online.
What happens on Wednesdays?
Additionally, teachers offer extra help on Wednesdays. Please check teachers' CANVAS pages since their extra help is posted there and a link is provided each week. If a student has a question for a teacher at any other time, he or she should email the teacher for help. All teachers have contact information on their CANVAS pages.
Teachers spend Wednesdays planning for the week, collaborating with other teachers, receiving professional development training, and meeting with their cluster-mates, guidance, and administrators. Custodians spend the day doing a deep clean of the building between the two Cohorts.
Please feel free to print the blank schedule template below for your child if you think it would be helpful for your child to plan out tasks visually for the day/week.
COVID-19 Travel Order
In order to keep all of our FBMS students and staff safe, please remember all individuals arriving in Massachusetts by any means or mode, including Massachusetts residents who have left the state for anything more than transitory travel, are covered by the Massachusetts travel rule. Accordingly, even travelers not required to complete the form should act in compliance with the rule.
The rule requires that you MUST quarantine for 14 days unless you:
- are coming from a lower-risk state or
- can produce, on request, proof of negative test result for COVID-19 from a test administered on a sample taken not longer than 72 hours before your arrival in Massachusetts, or
- meet the exemption criteria.
You MUST quarantine until you receive the negative result. You may obtain a test at your own expense after your arrival in Massachusetts but you MUST quarantine until you obtain a negative result. We all need to practice these health and safety rules in order to keep our school open, healthy, and running.
Free lunch?
ChromeBooks Need to Come to School Charged Everyday
We are not allowing the dropping off of any forgotten items at this time. Should your child forget his/her Chromebook, he or she will receive a loaner from the library. It is returned at the end of the day. Please do not come to the building to drop off a forgotten Chromebook. We are trying to keep our building healthy and safe so we are minimizing visitors and the transfer of items from the outside. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
Student Drop Off & Pick Up
Masks are REQUIRED
MASK REQUIREMENT:
Wearing a mask will be required of all students unless they have a note from a physician that they have presented to our nursing staff. The Superintendent and our School Committee have approved the guidelines regarding the wearing of masks in the following document: MASK GUIDELINES. The document states that masks will be worn all day and that the following masks are not allowed: gaiters (worn around neck); handkerchiefs; and masks with circular valves. Students who come to school with the masks listed will be given a disposable mask to wear for the day. There will be regular mask breaks throughout the day.
We are serious about students wearing masks. Wearing them is not something to joke about, and students who are either refusing to wear a mask or pulling theirs off will be sent home. Additionally, such behavior will be met with progressive discipline. We wear masks to keep all those around us safe.
