Waukesha South Updates

From the Principal's Desk

Purpose of "One More" Communication

The briefings I will share with this communication will be a collection of things that come across my desk that might be of interest to South families. I will send this out approximately every 4-6 weeks. It will have limited athletics/activities, as those events can be learned about via the GoBlackshirts.com site.

The "Fad" of Vaping Among Our Young People

Vaping and the use of JUULS are becoming more and more popular across our nation. Particularly, the rate are increasing with our young people. Experimenting and forming nicotine habits are sadly forming in both high school and middle school aged students. Here is a video to use as a foundation for any conversation you may want to have with your child regarding the dangers of vaping. Here is the direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EsNG7RcStQ

Wednesday, Dec. 5th, 6-8pm

401 East Roberta Avenue

Waukesha, WI

We will be welcoming all 8th grade families into our building on Wednesday, December 5th. If you have a child in 8th grade or have neighbors/friends who have children in 8th grade, please come and spend the evening with us. We will start in the auditorium and have multiple breakout sessions from there. It will be an informative evening and we look forward to seeing you!

Door 1 Entrance (Roberta)

The only two entrances that are open for student and visitor entrance are Door 2 (by the flag pole) and the Field house entrance. Door 1 (which used to be open) will now be locked in an effort to control the traffic flow and security of the building. If you typically drop off your child(ren) at Door 1, you may want to Drop off at Door 2 and turn around in the staff lot or your child will have to walk to Door 2.

See it Live (If you are interested in visiting our programs)

If you have wondered about our Academies and would like to accompany your child to visit, the district has set aside a specific date for this to happen. Check out the flyer.
