MI-WAYE REPORT
Week 19
Important Info
Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your break and had great time with family and able to rest.
We are in the home stretch for the 1st semester...for HS only 5 instructional days until teacher-made final exams and 7 instructional days until EOCs while MS has 9 instructional days until EOQ's. Our students have been off for the past 2 weeks, now it's time for the final push.
It is extremely important that your gradebook is up to date so students and parents know where they stand. If you have a student that is on the borderline of passing, please make sure you contact their parents this week so they understand.
This will be a short week, so let's make the BEST of it.

MGSD TEACHER REFRESH UPDATE
It's that time for teacher refresh. Below is my tentative schedule for refreshing teacher machines. My plan is to have two or three people at the schools all day so the teachers can come during their downtime.
Principals please let your teachers know as soon as possible.
Thursday January 4:
-Rocky River
-South
-Park View
Friday, January 5:
-MIS
-EMIS
Monday, January 8:
-MMS Teachers
Tuesday, January 9:
-MHS Teachers
-NF Woods Teachers
I apologize for the lack of notice but I have had many constraints. Not the least of which is time as I have to have the computers packed and shipped by next week. The other being the delivery and application of covers were delayed beyond our control. Let me know if you have any concerns.
We will need the school to provide us a place to set up (Media Center or Help Desk). We will have crates of computers and boxes of power supplies so we need a little space where we will not be in the way.
Again Mrs. Cline will be providing login instructions for the teachers. Please let your teachers know that they need to have everything they need off their old machine as these will be going away quickly and cannot be recovered.
Instructional
CCP Informational Night for 10th and 11th Graders
January 25 @6:30
- "Classes at Mitchell" are called CCP classes. These classes are open to 11th and 12th graders, which means that this year's 10th and 11th graders should attend an informational night on January 25 at 6:30pm at MHS. This informational night will help students learn how to apply for and enroll in classes at Mitchell. By not attending the informational night, students may still apply to take a class at Mitchell next year, but will be at a disadvantage (and may not get their desired courses) once MCC registration opens.
High School Course Videos
Course Videos
Just a quick reminder about course videos for the registration website! The website will be released to students and posted online within the next few weeks.
Time is running out to get a new video created and uploaded before students have access to the website, so be sure to let Ms. Nuss know if you're interested!

Middle School EOQ Schedule
CHANGE OF DATE FOR EOQ TESTING
This year the MMS Performing Arts Program has the opportunity to take their students to the Belk Theatre in Charlotte. The Charlotte Symphony always runs a concert series like this around this time of year. Unfortunately, they only offer this concert on one day. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to one, get outside of their little "Mooresville Bubble" and experience the city culture of spending time to go to the symphony and also to let them experience live and in person what professional musicians sound like and how far music could take some of them should they continue to study music. Much like a college visit, this could give a lot of our students a great insight into the profession of music performance.
In order for students to attend this trip School Leadership Team has voted to change the dates of EOQ testing to the following:
January 16- Math
January 17- ELA
January 18- Sciece
January 19- Social Studies
