Holiday Help Needed
Thank you to the many who have already donated gift cards for us to share with our families in need this holiday season. For those of you who can afford to help, please donate gifts cards over the next couple of weeks to places like Fred Meyer, Target, Walmart, Safeway or Albertsons. Please bring them to the front office as we will be sending out these cards to our Pacer Families who may need a little extra help this holiday season the week before winter break. If you are in need of help please reach out to me or to anyone here at Lakeridge and we will make sure to get the help your families needs this season. Thank you for being an amazing community who is willing to help and be helped by Our Pacer Family!!

Parent Information Night With Kevin Ashworth - NW Anxiety Institute
Please join us on Tuesday, November 29 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the LOHS Library for an evening with Kevin Ashworth, Clinical Director of NW Anxiety Institute, to discuss ways we can support teenagers with anxiety and stress. The presentation focuses on helping parents and caregivers understand the important differences between anxiety and stress and introduces effective tools for managing each. Emphasis will be placed on helping parents identify signs of anxiety in kids and manage expectations at home. Most importantly, the role of empathy and the avoidance of over-accommodating anxiety in kids will be addressed.
About Kevin:
Kevin Ashworth is a co-founder, licensed therapist and Clinical Director of NW Anxiety Institute, a specialty anxiety clinic in Portland, Oregon. For the past 15 years, Kevin has worked with children, teens, adults, and families who live with anxiety disorders. Kevin presents regularly on topics of anxiety, parenting, and CBT and is passionate about providing clinical supervision to emerging therapists and licensed clinicians. He provides continuing education trainings to therapists on a national level and co-directs NW Anxiety Institute’s student training institute, supervising graduate student clinicians. Cold and Flu Season is upon Us
If your student is sick while at school....
Please have them tell their teacher and come to the office. Office staff can take temperatures and assess the situation as well as contact parents. The process can be confused when a parent calls and says that their student is sick in a class because of a text message sent from class. All teachers will let students come to the office if they are ill. Students can then check out with attendance and their absence will be cleared. Thank you for this assistance from your end!

Oregon State Assessment Opt-Out Form
State law requires us to inform you that a form is available from the State Department of Education that allows you to opt your child out of the math and English Language Arts assessments for the current school year. Should you wish to opt out your child, fill out the form and submit it to the main office at your child’s school. Please note the submission deadlines listed on the form. Meeting the deadline will help the school with planning and preparation.
