SkillsUSA Leadership Events
At the District Officer Leadership, the District Officers and Ambassadors were guided through officer development using the POWERR formula by the SkillsUSA MO State Office Trainer. The POWERR formula gives six simple steps to giving impactful speeches: Pre-Work, Outlook, Wisdom, Engagement, Review, Reflection.
SkillsUSA Missouri EMPOWER Fall Leadership Conference was attended by our state officers, district officers and ambassadors, local officers and local committee chairpersons. These students were actively involved in leadership sessions that focused on the three essential elements of the SkillsUSA Framework: Self-Motivation, Teamwork and Planning & Organization Management. They all earned their Statesman Award and Pin by demonstrating leadership skills and mastering the SkillsUSA knowledge requirements.
These students will bring their knowledge and activities back to the rest of the NCC SkillsUSA members for their own leadership conference at NCC in the near future.
Remember, it is not too late to join SkillsUSA. All that is required is the completed SkillsUSA Liability form and $30 membership dues.

Tardies at NCC
This week started 2nd quarter at NCC. Teachers will be showing a video from Mr. Noller and Mr. Green sharing successes for 1st quarter and some things to work on moving forward. One of the topics is tardies. Starting November 1st, we will be tracking tardies per our handbook. Please have a conversation with your student(s) about being to NCC on time. The AM session starts at 8:05 and the PM session starts at 11:30.
Note: Students that ride the bus to and from NCC are never tardy unless they don't go directly to class when the bus arrives. If they need to use the restroom or take care of business in the office, they should check in with their teacher first.
Tardy Policy
1st and 2nd tardy = verbal warning from front office and teacher
3rd tardy = written warning from front office
5th tardy = communication home to parents/guardians, temporary loss of driving / car riding privileges
6th tardy = meeting with Assistant Director, longer period of privileges suspended
8th tardy = loss of driving privileges for rest of quarter or 6 weeks
9th tardy = final warning, meeting with Assistant Director and call home
10th tardy = not recommended to return next semester, next year, or ineligible for NCC certificate/graduation
