After School Enrichment and Tutoring Continue in March

Thanks to a variety of programs, volunteers and teachers we are able to continue our after school enrichment and tutoring opportunities through March. Forms were sent home this week, but a copy is available below. In March students will have the opportunity to learn in the following classes:
  • Medical Science, hosted by Della Johnson
  • Camp "Fit & Healthy", hosted by WVU Medical Students
  • Spark Science Classes, hosted by SPARK Science and Imagination Center
  • Poet-Tree and Birds & Worms, hosted by Laura Blackburn
  • Hapkido, The American Judo-Hapkido Institute in Waynesburg PA
  • Coding with Dash, hosted by Mrs. Musgrave
  • Tutoring/Homework Help, Mason Dixon Teachers
Thanks to our teachers Mrs. Price, Mrs. Wade, Mrs. Wright, Ms. Shober, Mrs. Garrison, Mrs. Ammons and Mrs. Musgrave who have been providing tutoring and supervisions for all of these activities for our children after school. Program offerings provided in part by Monongalia County Schools, Title I funding and the Stephen J. Tanner Children's Enrichment Fund at Your Community Foundation and our many volunteers. We would like to thank them for their support of the children of Mason Dixon Elementary.

5th Graders and Parents Invited to Attend the "March to College" Program at WVU on March 7th

Attached below is the flyer and registration form sent home previously. Please consider attending with your child as it is never too early to learn about and plan for the college attendance process!

Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration

Call the school at 304-662-6113 to schedule to attend Kindergarten Registration, it is being held at Mason Dixon on April 24th. Must turn 5 on June 30th or before. If you are already attending Pre-K at Mason Dixon, you do not need to attend Kindergarten Registration.



Pre-K Registration must be completed online at https://www.preschoolsteps.org/

A list of needed items is on that site, your child must turn 4 on June 30th or before. If you have questions regarding Pre-K please contact Dorsey Center at 304-291-9330 ext 0. Preschool children ages 3-4 who might have a special need may obtain an appointment for screening by calling 304-599-5952 ext. 1755. Screening of a preschool child does not guarantee that the child will qualify for special needs services. Head Start is a free early childhood program open to all age eligible children. Families who meet Head Start Income Guidelines will receive priority for Head Start designated slots. IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE WISHING TO HAVE YOUR CHILD PARTICIPATE IN THE PK LOTTERY, ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO 4/15/20

N.E.S.T. Programs Celebrate Dr. Seuss and Reading in March!

This month we will celebrate reading with some Dr. Seuss fun at our N.E.S.T. programs through reading and hands on craft activities. Come and enjoy some fun with your child, this program is open to all families with children ages birth to five even if they are already attending school.

March 6th at 2:30 p.m. and March 19th at 6:00 p.m.

Mason Dixon's Week of State Testing Begins on April 27th for Grades 3-5
