Message From Onondaga Road School Principal
Hello, Onondaga Road Families -
We had a great school week, and we're ready for what feels like a summery weekend.
I always tell the kids that their homework, on days when it's nice and not raining, is to get outside and play! One day this week I reminded them, on the announcements, that playing outside means put away the electronics and video games so they can do other things: ride bikes, play hide-and-seek, rollerblade, use sidewalk chalk, jump rope, take a walk, or anything that keeps them active without a screen... to my pleasant surprise, I heard about their basketball games, hop-scotch, and even a lemonade stand! I encourage you all to take advantage of the sunshine and enjoy the weekend together!
Next week, on Wednesday and Thursday, our 3rd and 4th grade students will take the New York State English Language Arts Assessment. They are ready to show what they know, so please get them to school rested and on time. Thank you for your continued and ongoing support from home.
Respectfully,
Jeannette Clark
Positivity Project
#PositivityInAction! Next week we will learn how appreciation is a character strength, specifically "appreciation of beauty and excellence." Please use the link to help guide your conversations with your children about this positive characteristic.
