What's the point of changing your image?

Most teenagers this days just think of one thing and is been thin. They want to be thin because of the media, and there worry about their body image, but there are consequences for been thin.

The media

The media this days show a lot of models that are really thin. The people also look in the internet on how they can lose weight. The media also tells the young girls what a beautiful person looks like and that is been thin. The media should be careful on what they put out there for the other people.

body image

Young teenagers want to have the same body as any celebrity that they see on television and magazines also. Some girls feel that their body is their enemy. A lot of girls worry about how there body looks.

been too thin has consequences

It can have health issues for example there is 2 diabetes and heart disease it can also lead to death. It can also affect a person's emotional and physical health. Other consequences are:
  • Abnormally slow heart rate and low blood pressure, which mean that the heart muscle is changing. The risk for heart failure rises as the heart rate and blood pressure levels sink lower and lower.
  • Reduction of bone density (osteoporosis), which results in dry, brittle bones.
  • Muscle loss and weakness.
  • Severe dehydration, which can result in kidney failure.
  • Fainting, fatigue, and overall weakness.
  • Dry hair and skin; hair loss is common.
  • Growth of a downy layer of hair called lanugo all over the body, including the face, in an effort to keep the body warm.

Conclusion

In conclusion most teenagers just want to be thin this days because of what they see on the media and they way there body looks like, but been really thin has consequences that may lead to death.
