Attention 6th Graders!

Are you wondering what EY will look like at the middle school next year? You won't be pulled out of your classes like you've been doing in elementary, but rather your classroom teachers will provide many opportunities for voice and choice along with enrichment within their classrooms. You can also check the EY Website for middle school opportunities like Quiz Bowl, Math Contests and Seminars just to name a few. Check your email frequently about upcoming opportunities. The emails will come from Dr. Spady. All enrichment/learning opportunities will also be posted on the EY Website under the Middle School tab, so check there frequently! https://ey.westside66.org/

International Academic Competition

International Academic Competitions (IAC) is a consortium of academic competitions for primary and secondary students. IAC’s mission is to reward academic excellence by bringing innovative, stimulating, fair, and relevant competition opportunities to students around the world. This is the 2nd year in which WCS students have participated in the IAC contests and we are proud to announce that several elementary and middle school students not only placed locally in the History, Geography, and Science competitions, but they also placed regionally which qualified some of our students to compete at the national and international levels.

The EY program website is the hub of communication for the EY Team. For our K-8 students, monthly challenges, seminars and events, as well as other learning opportunities are posted to the site on a regular basis.

All students are encouraged to participate in the opportunities posted, regardless of whether they have been identified for the EY Program. Students can participate independently by accessing the opportunities at home or during tech time at school. Teachers may also facilitate these whole and small-group enrichment opportunities for students in the classroom.
