Historic T-6 "Fly By" added to Veteran’s Day Event
As part of the Town of Sunnyvale’s Veteran's Day Recognition event, the Cavanaugh Flight Museum will do a “Fly by” at 5:15 p.m. The historic T-6 plane will fly down Collins Road and by Town Hall right before the start of the event.
The Town of Sunnyvale is inviting our Town's Veterans to attend the Annual Veteran's Day Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 5:30 - 6 p.m. on the front lawn of Town Hall. The "Fly By" will immediately precede the event at 5:15 p.m.
Veterans will be presented with a medal of appreciation, Boy Scout Troop 108 will present the colors, and members of the Sunnyvale High School Choir will perform patriotic songs.
The ceremony will take place outdoors to allow for social distancing. Attendees are asked to wear masks to protect from COVID-19.
Turkey Trot registration in progress
Registration for the 2020 Turkey Trot is in progress. Be one of the first 150 to register and receive a medal and a runners bib.
The Town of Sunnyvale's 2nd Annual Fast and Furriest Turkey Trot is a free 5K and/or 1-mile fun run and will be held on Thanksgiving Day - Nov. 26 from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. This event benefits the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter.
The race will kick off in the Raider Stadium Parking Lot - 222 N. Collins Rd. Sunnyvale, TX 75182 at 7:30 a.m. Participants may begin arriving at 7 a.m.
T-shirts are available for a $25 donation to the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter. All donations for t-shirts must be received by Thursday, Nov. 12 at 12 p.m. to ensure that the t-shirts are received on time. Order t-shirts on the Turkey Trot registration page.
To register for the 5K, 1-mile fun run, and/or to make a donation to receive a t-shirt, please visit townofsunnyvale.org/turkeytrot. There will be no day-of registration available, due to COVID-19. A liability waiver will be emailed to you upon receipt of registration. Every participant must complete and return the waiver.
To comply with social distancing requirements, we are asking families to stay in "pods" of no more than five people.

Just a reminder to exercise caution when out in public or at gatherings outside your immediate family. Transmission of COVID-19 is once again on the rise.
The best way to protect yourself from COVID is to maintain social distance, wash your hands often, and wear a mask when around others.
